FAQ

Questions and answers

Who actually does the work if I use Jefflied Pest Control?

An independent local provider in our network does the work. Jefflied Pest Control is a referral service. We do not treat homes, set traps, or remove animals. We route your request to a provider, and that provider handles the inspection, the quote, the treatment, and any follow-up. Referral, not repair. Ask the provider about licensing and warranty terms before you agree to anything.

How much does pest control cost?

Costs vary by pest, home size, and how far the problem has spread. As a typical U.S. range, a one-time treatment for ants or roaches often runs from about $100 to $300. Termite work and wildlife removal usually cost more, sometimes several hundred to a few thousand dollars. Bed bug treatment can run higher too. Always ask for a written quote that lists what is included, and compare it with the scope of work before you approve anything.

Is there a charge to use Jefflied Pest Control?

You can request an estimate with no obligation, and you decide whether to hire anyone. Any charge for inspection or treatment comes from the provider, not from us, and each provider sets its own pricing. Ask the provider what fees apply before the visit. Get the details in writing so there are no surprises. If the price or plan does not suit you, you can say no and walk away.

How do I keep mice, ants, and roaches out of my house?

Start with entry points. Seal gaps around pipes, vents, and foundation cracks. Mice can squeeze through openings about the size of a dime. Store food in sealed containers and fix leaks, since pests want water. Keep firewood and debris away from the house. In older frame homes and basements, check where utilities enter. A provider can inspect and point out weak spots you may miss.

Will homeowners insurance cover pest damage?

Often not. Many policies exclude routine pest problems like termites, rodents, and bed bugs, because they treat them as maintenance issues. Some policies may cover sudden damage, such as harm from an animal that got inside. Check your policy or ask your insurer. Providers can often help document damage for a claim, such as with photos and a written report.

What should I expect during the first visit?

The provider will usually inspect the home, look for signs of activity, and identify the pest. Expect questions about what you have seen and where. You should then get a plan and a written quote. Treatment may happen at that visit or be scheduled for later. Ask about prep steps, how long the work takes, and whether you need to leave the house or move pets.

When should I call about a pest problem?

Call early. Catch it small. A few ants or one sign of a mouse is much easier to deal with than an established colony or nest. Some problems, like termites, can damage wood quietly for months. Request a callback to check provider availability. Many providers can respond quickly, though hours vary by provider. If you prefer, send a request through the estimate form.

Do I need wildlife removal or regular pest control?

It depends on the animal. Pest control usually covers insects and small pests such as ants, spiders, roaches, and crickets. Wildlife removal covers larger animals like squirrels, raccoons, or rodents living in an attic or crawl space. Rats and mice may fall into either group, depending on the provider. Describe what you see and hear when you reach out, and the provider can tell you which service fits and how the work would be done.
